Introduction

The Association for Innate Health is a new not-for-profit organisation owned and managed by its members to promote Innate Health practice in the UK.

The Association’s overall aim is to develop shared standards and processes for those who provide wellbeing services under the name of Innate Health to ensure this field is recognised by the public, and by health and wellbeing professionals, as a distinct and credible field of work making a valuable contribution to public wellbeing.

It will take time to achieve everything that is possible and the elected Board of Directors will set out their own plans after the first AGM in 2027. Meanwhile, here are a list of initial aims we will work on from “Day One”.

In all circumstances, we will consult members and work with stakeholders to understand needs, set priorities and develop solutions.

Goal 1: Be recognised

  • by the public as the natural gateway to impartial Innate Health advice and services;
  • by health professionals and policy-makers as the authoritative and representative voice championing Innate Health practice;
  • by Innate Health practitioners as their natural home, where they can learn from each other, share ideas and challenges, and be confident of finding friendship, understanding and support.

Goal 2: Attract members

  • practitioners offering Innate Health services;
  • students preparing to become an Innate Health practitioner;
  • organisations offering Innate Health services;
  • supporters of Innate Health practice.

Goal 3: Publish a membership Directory

  • to raise the profile of Innate Health
  • to improve transparency
  • to ensure people can find support appropriate to their needs and wishes

We will consult members on the form of the Directory and explore ways for members to promote particular events, products, services or courses.

Goal 4: Host workshops and discussions

We will ensure that Association members have opportunities to attend structured workshops and take part in key discussions. We will be led by members in deciding topics and themes and we hope to attract speakers from the Association’s membership, from among Honorary Presidents, and supportive external individuals and bodies.

Goal 5: Lead on improving standards

  • agree a shared definition of “Innate Health”;
  • identify, develop and promote elements of “good practice”;
  • find pathways to continuous professional training and quality improvement.

Goal 6: Create member benefits and resources

  • identify and prioritise member support needs;
  • develop resources to inform and strengthen Innate Health practice (eg on: safeguarding, data governance, risk management, etc);
  • explore ways to help Innate Health practitioners reduce costs or improve outcomes (eg by co-commissioning or co-producing shared resources).

Goal 7: Establish communications and partnerships

  • maintain and promote website at www.innatehealth.info;
  • establish an AIH presence on LinkedIn;
  • work with UK professionals, commissioners or regulators in the fields of health, wellbeing, education and personal effectiveness;
  • establish good relations with UK and international academics researching Innate Health or the Three Principles;
  • UK and international bodies working on Innate Health;
  • UK and international bodies working on the Three Principles.

Goal 8: Achieve sustainability

  • attract at least 100 members;
  • ensure expenditure is always covered by income from memberships, sponsorships, or sales.

Goal 9: Hold an AGM in the autumn of 2027

Hold an AGM to receive the Association’s 2026-27 accounts and elect a new Board of Directors.

Goal 10: New Board

Ensure the new Board inherits a financially viable organisation with a good name, and with a framework of good policies and practices.
